How do I register as an employer?
Any employer (company, charity, sole proprietor, partnership, etc) must register with the LHDN, EPF, and SOCSO. If they are in the manufacturing or service sectors then they may have to register with the HRDF as well.
NOTE: ALL copies of documents should be certified true copies.
EPF
The following documents need to be submitted to an EPF counter:
1. For company
- Copy of SSM Form 9
- Copy of SSM Form 49
- IC of one director
- KWSP Form 1 (signed and stamped)
- KWSP Form 1(i)
2. For sole trader/partnership
- Passport/IC of director
- Form D
- KWSP 1 (signed)
- KWSP 1 (i)
SOCSO
The following documents need to be submitted to a SOCSO counter:
1. For company
- Copy of SSM Form 9
- Copy of SSM Form 49
- SOCSO Forms 1 and 2 (signed)
2. For sole trader/partnership
- Copy of SSM Form D/Business License
- Copy of SSM Form A
- SOCSO Forms 1 and 2 (signed)
LHDN
The following documents need to be submitted to an LHDN counter:
1. For company
- Copy of company’s M&A
- Copy of SSM Form 9
- Copy of SSM Form 49
- Copy of SSM Form 24
- Copy of SSM Form 13 (if company has changed name)
- LHDN form CP600E (signed)
2. For sole trader/partnership
- Latest audited account x1
- Copy of SSM Form D / Business License
- Copy of SSM Form A/letter from bar council/Form 12/Form K/Form Q/ MIA letter and appointment as tax agent
- LHDN form CP600E (signed)
HRDF
You only need to register with the HRDF if you are in the manufacturing or service sectors.
The following documents should be submitted to the HRDF counter:
1. For company
- Copy of SSM Form 9
- Copy of SSM Form 24
- Copy of SSM Form 49
- Company Profile / Annual Return / Financial Statements
- EPF statement
- HRDF Form 1 and form 1a
2. For sole trader
- Business License
- EPF statement
- HRDF Form 1 and form 1a
3. For partnership
- Copy of SSM Form D
- EPF statement
- HRDF Form 1 and form 1a
